that you are using a Java EE 5 version of the First Cup tutorial with GlassFish v3, the implementation of the Java EE 6 platform. We're not sure how this happened. Did you download GlassFish v3 or 3.0.1, and then download the First Cup tutorial from
https://firstcup.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectDocumentList and then unzip it into the glassfish/docs directory?
We are aware that the
https://firstcup.dev.java.net/ project page has been referring to the EE 5 version, and this has caused confusion. We apologize and are working to correct this.
The most current version of the First Cup and Java EE tutorials can be found online at
http://download.oracle.com/javaee/. For now, we recommend that you use these versions with GlassFish v3 or 3.0.1.
