Hmm, re-examining that article raises a concern:
"clock=pit has a bug that can cause the result of gettimeofday to temporarily go backward"
That could cause quite some trouble on code relying on gettimeofday timing, I'll schedule a reboot without the clock=pit kernel flag and report back to you, it will take some days/weeks to see the effect though...
