Ok, I think I found the real problem:

CDI Injection of @PersistenceContext does not work, when using a
Servlet 2.3 web.xml file (even if its empty except for the header) ,
like this one

        "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN"

I have a test case where I can reproduce this bug.
