Hi Brenda,
can you pls. send the GF thread dump, when it gets frozen.
To get it pls. following:
1) ps -A | grep java
to find GF pid
2) kill -3 pid
and you have the dump in the jvm.log file.
after doing that - please resend the jvm.log one more time.
