I looked at the discussion thread you referenced, and I don't see anything that's obviously wrong with your MDB. The two acceptable transaction attributes for MDBs are REQUIRED (for CMT) and NOTSUPPORTED (for BMT).
In any case, since you got your application working, I'll leave it at that if that's okay with you. If anything is not working to your satisfaction with JMSJCA, do let me know.
