Which version of Glassfish are you using?
You say that if the host is incorrectly set "the initialization of the bean fails with a timeout", and you want to be able to configure it.
We need to identify what this timeout is. What exception or error message do you see when it expires?
What causes you to say that it is four minutes? Did you measure it?
