It's not that things don't work for me, I'm looking for what is different between using @EJB annotation and using the default context to look for the same local session interface.
So I think the difference is that when I'm not using @EJB annotation I have to manually add ejb-local-ref to the ejb-jar.xml file which happen automatically when deploying to glassfish, like you say.
I've look for ejb-jar.xml file and found it inside generated directory of glassfish domain1 folder. It means you right.
