this works.
cd to c:\glassfish
then in that directory run
.\lib\ant\bin\ant -f setup-cluster.xml
Also, upgrade to JDK 6 u14 for better performance.

so now I am trying to start the node agent.
C:\glassfish\bin>asadmin start-node-agent nodeagent1XPhm
Please enter the admin user name>admin
Please enter the admin password>
Please enter the master password [Enter to accept the default]:>
Password entered is invalid
CLI137 Command start-node-agent failed.
isn't the default pwd is
adminadmin
and user is
admin
So
Please enter the admin user name>admin
Please enter the admin password>adminadmin
Please enter the master password [Enter to accept the default]:><my own password>
