Have you look at GlassFish WebSpace Server? It is basically Liferay 5.2.3 + several Sun features. There is a bundle available that contains only WebSpace, and a script for deploying onto GlassFish Enterprise Server (the app server).

For example, grab

http://download.java.net/portalserver/WebSpace10.1/CB1/webspace-10.1-for-glassfish.zip

Extract, and run the included ant script to install to an existing GF.
