there is a dependency for all XMLReaders (vis a vis Xalan) to recognise SAXON namespaces and features:
All XMLReaders are required to recognize the
http://xml.org/sax/features/namespaces and the
http://xml.org/sax/features/namespace-prefixes feature names.
