I'm sorry the news has been slow to arrive. This is clearly frustrating for you. The people planning the updated schedule hope to have an announcement later this week.
Very soon v3 will support app clients (that is, the ACC launched using the appclient script) and Java clients (that is, no ACC). Java Web Start support via the ACC might come later.
