Sorry to reply to an oldish thread but I am trying to do the same thing as the opening poster.
I am running glassfish 2.1 and webserver7 update 4.
I have already posted on the webserver forums and they have confirmed (from my logs) that the forward-ip SAF is being executed correctly.
I have added this line to my domain.xml:
<property name="authPassthroughEnabled" value="true"/> but I am still getting this error message in my glassfish logs

From what I can see glassfish is doing its job, and webserver is doing its job, but they aren't playing nicely...
Does anybody have any ideas?
