What do you mean "configure a client id"? You mean do something like this?

-property ClientId=MyID

Are there implications with doing this? I would have to do this uniquely for each cluster instance?

Also, can you point me documentation on how to bypass whatever is causing this in the standard glassfish install? I'm using OpenMQ and would be happy to do what it takes to work around the problem.
