*facepalm* Right, ok, guess I should have looked a little more carefully. It's [b]not[/b] webservice.xml, it's webservice[b]s[/b].xml... That part of the problem is solved.
Still not entirely sure why it's not working the way I want it to, but I've got more to go on now...
