thanks for the quick reply. We are only in the initial phases of determining whether or not to utilize Glassfish and possibly netbeans, and already have open source use guidelines. Indemnification was one of the questions we had about using GF for services we provide our clients, so I'm glad to see at least there was a precedence.
being a developer, I'm only peripherally aware of these legal issues and have the POV of changing/committing source - it didn't occur to me, at first, regarding the *[i]use[/i]* of GF and potential litigation regarding some nebulous third party making proprietary claims and "shaking down" some of us smaller companies, because they know we don't have the resources of a Sun, or Apple, or Microsoft, to fend off those licensing claims (which could likely be false)
sometimes, I think Shakespeare may have had it right regarding lawyers.... :-)
