As I mentioned earlier, I am open to the possibility of offering ACC-under-OSGi as a [b]choice[/b] for users who want it. But because adding more required JARs goes against one of our requirements - reducing the footprint - I am reluctant to [b]require[/b] that an OSGi implementation be present in order to run the ACC.
You have mentioned that the Felix implementation is a relatively small 500 Kb. Yet until we have a clearer picture of exactly how large the ACC and the JARs it depends on will be I am not sure we should plan to enlarge the footprint by requiring an OSGi implementation in order to run the ACC. Maybe 500 Kb won't turn out to be very much in the scheme of things.
