This is a defect we've fixed in build 58 of v2.1. (Here's the issue: https://glassfish.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=3844 for this bug.) I'm afraid that redeploying the app is the only workaround unless you are willing and able to use the promoted build 58 of v2.1.
