Hi Tim
the answer came to me this night: I got a 64 bit Windows Server and there is the known 'bug' (http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4626735) that this operating system doesn't support javaws.
So that is not a problem of GlassFish.
