If you are using GF V2 you can write your own LifeCycle class in which you can do the cleanup on shutdown(). I have never tried this. Also there is self-management support is GF that might be of help : http://weblogs.java.net/blog/sankara/archive/2006/02/self_management.html

I presume you want to clean your PolicyConfigurationFactory Impl?.
