I played around some more, got deployment 40% faster and summarized it <a href="http://jars.de/english/improving-glassfish-deployment-performance-in-eclipse">here</a>. <br/>

Netbeans poor initial deployment speed should be fixed with <a href="http://wiki.netbeans.org/NetBeans61Patch2Plan">Netbeans 6.1 Patch 2</a>, which should be just around the corner, as the tentative release date was July, 2nd. I guess you meant this <a href="http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=136307">bug</a>.
