i checked the *.xml files for any references to "consistency". i found 1 file, sun-cmp-mappings.xml where is contained:

      <consistency>
        <check-modified-at-commit/>
      </consistency>

this is different than the info in the link you provided where they write:

    <consistency>
        <check-version-of-accessed-instances>
            <column-name>OrderTable.VC_VERSION_NUMBER</column-name>
        </check-version-of-accessed-instances>
    </consistency>

but its pretty close -- i guess.

BTW -- its sun-cmp-mappings.xml , not sun-ejb-jar.xml
