Vince--thanks so much for looking into it. I filed a report at
http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=128250
but I wasn't able to upload the project since it is > 1MB (with all those JARs).
I temporarily put a zip file at
http://www.cs.sjsu.edu/faculty/horstman/ActiveLecture.zip
. You need to define a JDBC resource ActiveLecture and a mail resource ActiveLectureMail to get the app to deploy.
If there is something I can do to track this down on my end, just email.
