Hi - this is just for reference if others have the same problem.
To install Glassfish on Vista download the required JAR file but then move it to a directory of the root off the drive. i.e. C:\Glassfish\[place JAR here]
If you don't when you come to install it will fail if you are trying to do it under C:\program files\. With an error "cliutil.dll access denied" or similar
I never did figure out why - additional security in Vista? path with spaces?. It installs ok under \program files\ on XP but not Vista. Either way there is no problem doing it from C:\..
