glassfish and tomcat when using appserv-rt.jar

Hi,

My webapp is running on tomcat and my appserver on glassfish. Both servers use DataSource so I need a new InitialContext for both servers.

In order to lookup my EJBs from the webapp I'm putting the appserv-rt.jar file in tomcat lib (and also other related jar files). The problem is that I'm failing with the below Exception when I try to lookup a datasource from my webapp (which worked perfectly before putting the appserv-rt.jar jar file):

webapp code:

   Context ctx = new InitialContext();
   String env = "java:comp/env/";
   myDs = (DataSource) ctx.lookup(env + getPluginProperty("myDs"));

The Exception:

[b]javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: PWC4216: Name java:comp is not bound in this Context[/b] at org.apache.naming.NamingContext.lookup(NamingContext.java:791)

Looks like the appserver's jndi is used and the appserv-rt.jar is causing this.

Any idea or advice is welcome.

Thanks,
Ron
