Totally agree, sometimes the apps you build don't do everything and manual DB updates are required.
OT still but, the lack of support of entities lists within an IN query would also be a nice addition, i.e.
SELECT p FROM Product p WHERE p.category IN (:categories)
But perhaps these are issues that need addressing in the JPA API rather than the persistence provider... however the before mentioned special "button" would still be a nice addition to the admin interface.
