That message came from when I tried to redeploy a new ear. I was redeploying from NetBeans and finally solved it by undeploying the old ear first, then deploying the new.
Somehow the timer expiration got "consumed" and it now works as normal again.
I will keep an eye on this and try to recreate the problem, and come back with more info.
