Hi all,

end of the week we start to set up an new Server (Intel Xeon,2GB RAM) with openSUSE 64bit, SJSAS 9.1
My current running Application Server 9.0 has sometimes problems with file descriptor limit (Too many open files) and must be restarted if this exceptions occur.
Also it seems many of the admins do not have experience with this issue, so i have to tell the admin exactly, what they should configure on the new machine, to get rid of this problem.

Found the following chapters:
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-3681/6n5srlhrh?a=view#abejd
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-3681/6n5srlhrm?a=view#abeji

What i (non admin) link to know:
1. Could we configure exactly the described settings, or do we have to change some parameters depending to our used Hardware/OS?
2. If i package the classes of my applications into jar files, whoud this also help to reduce open file descriptors.

thanx,
J. Hammoud
