The next step is to look in the server.log for the server to see if it contains any exceptions.
After you create a new domain, the first attempt to launch an app client using Java Web Start causes GlassFish to create a signed copy of this JAR file in ${install-dir}/domains/{domain-x}/java-web-start.
If there is a problem creating this signed file then it should be reported in the log file. If there is no problem creating the file, then something else is going wrong.
Just to cover all possibilities: port 8179 is the correct one for http access in the new domain, right?
