i figured it out.. the setup method u and the other i saw only work on Netbeans software bundle. Its seems that the AS from that bundle works with the methods you describe butt fail if you download the AS from the glassfish site or SUN.
I tried the Netbean software bundle because im using Eclipse with the glassfish plugin.
After setting things up again in Netbeans it simple works!
Than i added the AS to Ecplise and it also works!
Maybe the setup is different on standalone AS or there is a bug
Although thanks for our help eventually learn something new about AS and its DB
