Sorry..... I did change the database name to protect my innocence. Also, I did create a JDBC Resource and Connection Pool for MySQL in the Application Server.
Connection Pool
Name: MySQL
Datasource Classname: com.mysql.jdbc.jdbc2.optional.MysqlConnectionPoolDataSource
Resource Type: javax.sql.DataSource
When I ping the database from the Application Server, it is SUCCESSFUL.
JDBC Resource:
JNDI Name: jdbc/<databasename>
Pool Name: MySQL
