Thanks for the reply. I have attached all six logs captured for the commands start-node-agent and start-instance. (see next messages for all log files- can attache only 2 files per post!) Following is the command line output for the above two commands.
By the way, my jdk version is 1.6.0_02. That is the only difference. Followed all step in

Although the node-agent's server.log shows it failed to start, even admin console shows node agent is running.
