Just to clarify one thing...
My earlier response was assuming that you are using the support for launching Java EE app clients using Java Web Start that is built into GlassFish. That support includes its own servlet that's different from the one that ships with the JDK which Steven has described.
If you are not using the built-in support, then my earlier notes don't really apply.
