Yes, understood, but the spec does not go into that level of detail about how the ejb reference
objects are implemented. The focus is on the expected application behavior. None of the
EJB reference objects themselves should get into an inconsistent state just because they happen
to be accessed concurrently.
As for performance, there's always the possibility that different implementations will yield
different results, but I'm not aware of any implementations that limit SLSB access within the
reference itself.
