On the BMT comment earlier, error on my part. You are correct, Glassfish has to register resources obtained within the transaction started by the user, the difference is when/who starts the transaction and when to commit/rollback the txn (although in CMT case, session bean has some say in when to rollback the txn if there is a need to). Glassfish is still managing the resources obtained within the context of transaction.
