Hi Stephan,

the Java Persistence query language does not support arithmetic operations in the SELECT clause. A SELECT clause expression may be a path expression, an aggregate, an identification variable, or a constructor expression (see chapter 4.8 SELECT Clause on page 99 of the Java Persistence API spec).
