Copying the JAR to the lib directory of the domain surely helps as already noted above. And adding it to the "additional content" saves the manual work!
but but but, when redeploying the EAR file, the server cannot rename the jar file because it is locked. Therefor, the deployment fails. You have to stop the server and redeploy. That cannot be the right solution.
But, we're getting somewhere....
