Quite a bunch of bug fixes and several processing improvements had been done
after version 1 has been released. Some of those bug fixes had been backported
into v1 UR1 branch (check for "fixed-9.0peur1" string in the "Status whiteboard"
field of the entity-persistence subcategory).
Yes, Glassfish version 1 fully implemented Java Persistence API spec, as
verified by the corresponding part of the test compatibility suite.
