yes I know that the Spec mandates JMS support to be provided for MDBs and so forth. But many JEE apps are pure web apps without the need for JMS and as such it would be very convenient to turn it off. Also in many companies you have a corporate standard for a certain JMS provider and you are not allowed to use that one that ships with your appserver of choice.
