thanks for creating the issue and providing the test case! As far as I can see the problem occurs when doing a LEFT JOIN on a ManyToMany relationship field of the same class.
In your latest reply you mentioned that the JOIN query does not work too. What kind of problem do you see? Does it throw an exception or return unexpected results on execution?
