Yes, this is recorded in IPS bug 305
<http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=305>. For the
OpenSolaris 2010.02 release, there are plans to implement a new
transport layer and hopefully that will include better error checking
for this. The correct syntax is to include the http:// at the front.
