Yes, I believe that documentation doesn't particularly elaborate on this. However, if you take a look at installation log file, there is rather clear error message returned by domain creation. Same happens if you try to create the domain using 'asadmin create-domain' command and provide short password. In any case, if installer validation gets fixed, user will either be prevented from getting into this situation right away, or, in the case of manual domain creation, get appropriate and very visible error message.
