Btw, its just a WAR with a database. Running it on a GlassFish cluster w MySQL on a pair of T2000's and Solaris 10 would be pretty cool :-)

JIRA is popular (but not free for commercial entities). Personally I use trac and like it for what it gives (nice SVN integration, easily customizable, plugins and more). Used bugzilla like 5 years ago and though it was awful from a usability stand point, gave trac a spin and haven't looked back.

xyzzy.dev.java.net projects use an ancient version of bugzilla. Probably a modern version is what you're looking for?
