RE: Contributing to Glassfish Verifier

This is how we got started on the Verifier.

1. The latest glassfish code can be checked out from CVS.

To check out and build, follow instructions available at:

http://wiki.glassfish.java.net/Wiki.jsp?page=BuildInformation#qs

The verifier code is in the avk module.

2. Query for issues in the issue tracker, choosing sub-component as
verifier.

https://glassfish.dev.java.net/issues/query.cgi

Thanks,

Seema

Hi Sahoo,

I find "verifier" project interesting. Is there an existing source
repository and spec documentation on this?

Cheers.

Hi Deepa,

Wow! You are the second person in two days who wish to contribute to
verifier. That's good news. As some of the other stuff in GlassFish is
keeping me busy these days, I really needed some help. Glad it has
arrived in time. Although I created that verifier specific alias, let's
use dev_at_glassfish alias for the moment and see how it goes. Using this
alias will help us getting some feedback from the wider audience that
participates in this alias. If there is too much traffic and that
becomes a problem for others, we shall shift our discussion to the
verifier alias. Let's prefix the subject with [@v] to indicate it is a
verifier related message. I will send another email with some details
about what we should do in short term and long term.

Welcome to the community. I hope you enjoy participating in this
community.

Thanks,
Sahoo

Hello,

The road map of Verifier project mentioned in Sahoo's mail seems to be
very interesting and challenging. I am also interested in contributing
to the Verifier module of GlassFish. I have a fair understanding about
the current features of Verifier and its benefits. Also I have scratched
the surface of code analyzing APIs like ASM, Tree API and Annotation
processing APIs. Please guide me on how to go about it.

BTW, I have seen one more alias - verifier_at_glassfish.dev.java.net
<mailto:verifier_at_glassfish.dev.java.net> which seems to be more specific
to verifier. Should we continue the discussion here or move to this
alias?

Thanks,

Deepa.
