Click the Navigator menu.
Step 1Navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work area.
Click the Setup and Maintenance link.
Step 2Click the All Tasks tab.
Step 3In the Search: Tasks region of the Setup and Maintenance work area, search for the task named Manage Item Classes.
Click in the Name field.
Step 4Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter

Step 6Highlight the Manage Item Classes row.
Step 7Click the Go to Task button.
Step 8Create your new item class on the Manage Item Classes page.
Click the Create button.

The Internal Name field populates Laptop_BCE automatically.
Click in the Internal Name field.

Click the Save and Add Details button.
Step 14Because you want to be able to create items with this item class, leave the Item Creation Allowed check box checked.

Step 15Because you also want to be able to use this item class with new item requests, you must enable the item class for new item requests.
Click the Item Management tab.
Step 16In the New Item Request region, locate the Enable new item request check box.
Click the Enable new item request option.
