Creating Trading Partner Item Relationships


You are a product manager at InFusion Corporation, and you have learned that one of your competitors, Vision Corp., produces a high-performance gaming laptop very much like one of yours. You want to create a trading partner item relationship between the two items so that you can associate the competitor item with your own item in your system.

 

In this demonstration, you will learn how to create a trading partner item relationship by creating a competitor item in your system and associating it with one of your product master items.


Steps:

  1. To begin creating a new trading partner item relationship, navigate to the Manage Trading Partner Items page from the Items work area.

     

    Click the Manage Trading Partner Items link.

  2. Create the competitor item on the Manage Trading Partner Items page.

     

    Click the Create button.

  3. Click the arrow to the right of the Choose Trading Partner Type list.

  4. Click the Competitor list item.

    Step 4

  5. Click the OK button.

    Step 5

  6. Enter the desired information into the Competitor field. Enter Vision.

  7. You know that Vision Corp. uses the item number GTX2012_PIM_SCM_BB to track the laptop. You want to use the same item number in your system.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Competitor Item field. Enter GTX2012_PIM_SCM_BB.

  8. Enter the desired information into the Competitor Item Description field. Enter High Performance Gaming Laptop.

  9. Leave the start date as today's date.

     

    Step 9

  10. Click the Save button.

  11. To create a relationship between the competitor item and a product master item, click the Create icon in the Relationships region of the

    Edit Competitor Item page.

     

    Click the Create button.

  12. InFusion Corporation's item that is comparable to the Vision Corp. laptop is item number Laptop_2102_BB, and it is assigned to the FS0 organization. Select FS0 from the Organization list of values.

     

    Click FS0.

  13. Enter the desired information into the Item field.  Enter Laptop_2102_BB.

  14. Click the OK button.
