Creating a Nested Condition

Steps:

  1. Hi, my name is Joe. Today I will be giving you a demonstration how to create nested conditions for requisition approvals.

    Step 1

  2. In this demonstration, I will show you how to create a nested condition for autoapproval of requisitions less than 5000 created in the business units Vision Operations, and Vision Services.

    Step 2

  3. To begin, go to the Manage Requisition Approvals task in the Functional Setup Manager.

Click the Go to Task button.

    Step 3
  4. Now, I select the row for the Header Stage with Header Consensus Participant.

    Click the Header Stage cell.

    Step 4
  5. To create the new condition, I will click to edit the rules for this stage and participant.

    Click the Edit Rules button.

    Step 5
  6. Now, I will create a new rule.

    Click the Create button.

    Step 6
  7. I entered a rule name and a description for the new condition.

    Click the OK button.

    Step 7
  8. Now, I will add conditions to the rule.

    Click the Add Condition button.

    Step 8
  9. The first condition is that the requisition amount must be less than 5000.

    Click the OK button.

    Step 9
  10. Before continuing, I made sure the row for the condition is selected so the additional operators I need will appear in the correct place.

    Click the Add Operator menu.

    Step 10
  11. Now, I add AND as a parent operator.

    Click the As Parent menu.

    Step 11
  12. Click the OK button.

    Step 12
  13. Notice the operator AND appears as the top node in this condition.

    Step 13

  14. Now, I will add another operator for the condition. Again, first I make sure the correct row is highlighted in the conditions table.

    Click the Add Operator menu.

    Step 14
  15. This condition will have an OR operator, and I want the operator to appear below the condition Requisition Amount is Less than 5000.

Click the Add Operator list item.

    Step 15
  16. Click the OR list item.

    Step 16
  17. Click the OK button.

    Step 17
  18. Now, I am going to add the business units I want this condition to apply to.  First, I highlighted the OR condition row.

    Click the Add Condition menu.

    Step 18
  19. I want this condition to appear below the OR operator, so I select As Child.

    Click the As Child menu.

    Step 19
  20. To save some time, I already populated the window. I set the Type to Approval task attribute, the Attribute to Requisitioning BU, Operator to Equals, and then selected Vision Operations from the list.

Now, we will repeat this step for the Vision Services requisitioning business unit.

    Click the Add Another button.

    Step 20
  21. After populating all the fields for making this a condition for the requisitioning business unit Vision Services, I'm done.

    Click the OK button.

    Step 21
  22. That's it!  The nested condition is created to autoapprove requisitions for an amount less than 5000 for the requisitioning business units Vision Operations and Vision Services. Don't forget to save your work.

    Step 22
  23. In this demonstration, I showed you how to create a nested condition.
