Creating an Informational Catalog


Informational catalogs contain links to web sites that provide instructions for ordering items or services at your company.

 

In this demonstration, you will create an informational catalog explaining your company's travel policies.


Steps:

  1. Begin by navigating to the Manage Catalogs page.

     

    Click the Manage Catalogs link.

  2. Click the Create Local Catalog menu.

  3. Click the Create Informational Catalog menu.

  4. The Procurement BU, Catalog name, Description, and URL were entered for you.

  5. When Self Service Procurement users perform a shopping search, informational catalogs containing keywords that match the search string will be returned in the search results.

     

    Add keywords to the informational catalog separated with a space.

  6. Enter the desired information into the Keywords field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "travel policies"
    .

  7. When shopping, the image and the informational catalog name are displayed in the search results when the search criteria matches any of the keywords.

     

    The image and catalog name will also be displayed if the user browses through a category entered in the Category Assignments for Catalog Browsing region.

  8. The Image URL was entered for you. Tab out of the Image URL field to preview the image.

     

    Press [Tab].

  10. Now you will associate the informational catalog with the browsing category Travel.

     

    When Self Service Procurement users browse through the Travel category, the Travel Policies informational catalog will be displayed in the search results.

     

    Click the Select and Add button.

  11. Enter the desired information into the Category Name field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "travel"
    .
