Steps:
Hello, my name is John and today I will talk about importing sales account information from a file.
Step 1In this demo, I will show you how to create a File Import Activity and import your sales account data.
Step 2This is the fifth in a series of demos that show how to import sales account data from a file.
In this series we are importing a sample template you can download from support.oracle.com.
Step 3Start by navigating to the Setup and Maintenance work area.
Step 4Search for the Manage File Import Activities task.
Step 5
Click the Search button.
Step 6Click the Go to Task button.
Step 7Now that we are on the Manage Import Activities page, let's create an import activity.
Step 8Click the Create button.
Step 9Creating an import activity involves several steps. In the first step, you select the object you are importing, upload your file, and set some options.
Step 10Let's enter a name for the import.
Step 11Now we select the object we are importing. For sales accounts, we select Customer.
What objects are available for import depends on application security, specifically, the enterprise roles assigned to you.
Step 12
Click the Customer list item.
Step 13We are uploading the file from our computer, so we select the Desktop option.
In the Sales Cloud Service, this is the only option available.
Step 14Click the Browse… button.
Step 15Select the file ImportTemplate-Customer-SalesAccounts.csv.
Step 16Click the Open button.
Step 17The file includes a header, so we select the Header row included option.
Step 18Now let's go to the next step, where we map the columns in the file to the application attributes.
Click the Next button.
Step 19You can select an existing mapping if you imported a similar file in the past, or if an administrator created a mapping for you.
Step 20Here we are creating a new mapping.
Step 21The column header in the sample template includes all the information we need to create the mapping.
So let's expand the column so we can see the names.
Step 22
The first part of the column header name is the target object you will select to create the mapping.
Step 24The second part is the target attribute.
Step 25Now let's map the first attribute.
We select OrganizationProfile as the target object.
Step 26
Click the OrganizationProfile list item.
Step 27Now let's select the target attribute, OrganizationName.
Click the dropdown button to activate the menu.
Step 28Click the button of the scrollbar.
Step 29Click the OrganizationName list item.
Step 30Now we enter the rest of the mapping. No need to show you this step by step.
Step 31When you are done, you click the Next button.
Step 32By default, the import is scheduled to run immediately. That's what we want, so let's go to the next page.
Step 33Click the Next button.
Step 34We start the import by clicking the Activate button.
Step 35The application returns you to the Manage Import Activities page where you can monitor the progress of your import.
Step 36Click your browser's refresh button to see the current status.
Step 37A status of Completed indicates your import completed successfully.
Step 38You can view the details by clicking the status link.
Step 39
Note that the application created 12 separate records for the two customers.
Step 40If your import completed with errors, you can download the error log using the Attachments link.
Step 41In this demo, you learned how to create a file import activity and import data from a file.
You can find additional learning resources in your Oracle Fusion Help application, as well as in the Oracle Learning Library, and at Oracle University. Thank you.
