Steps:
Hello, my name is John, and today we are discussing extending applications using Application Composer.
Step 1In this demo, I will show you how to display the custom due date we created in the previous demo.
Step 2
This is the third of four related demos that show you how to create a custom date field, display it in the UI, and create a validation rule to constrain the values users can enter.
Step 3The activities users log while troubleshooting display as a tab on each trouble ticket.
This tab belongs to the parent Trouble Ticket object, so we edit that object to display the field.
Step 4Let's expand the Trouble Ticket object.
Click the Expand button.
Step 5Click the Objects scrollbar.
Step 6And select the Pages link.
Click the Pages link.
Step 7We select the Activities tab and edit it.
Click the Display Label cell.
Step 8Click the Edit button.
Step 9We are going to be adding the field to two regions on the Activities tab.
Step 10To the list of activities, that's called the Summary Table.
Step 11And to the combination creation and edit region on the tab, called the Detail Form.
Step 12Let's add the field to the Summary Table first. We can add the field by double-clicking on it.
Double-click the Due list item.
Step 13Now to the Detail Form.
Double-click the Due list item.
Step 14We are done. In the next demo we'll test our work.
Click the Save and Close button.
Step 15In this demo you learned how to display the custom due date field in the UI of a parent object.
