Testing the Trigger You Created



Steps:

  1. Hello, my name is John, and today we are discussing extending  applications using Application Composer.

  2. In this demo we'll test the trigger we created on a custom object in Application Composer. As you may recall, the trigger prevents users from creating activities on closed trouble tickets.

  3. This is the second of two demos that show you how to create a trigger and test it.

  4. We begin by navigating to the trouble tickets work area.

     

    Click the Navigator link.

  5. Click the Trouble Tickets link.

    Step 5
  6. We'll edit the existing ticket and set its status to Closed.

     

    Click the Abstract link.

  7. Click the Status list.

  8. Click the Closed list item.

  9. We have to save for the trigger to work.

    Click the Save button.

  10. Now let's try to create an activity.

     

    Click the Add Row button.

  11. We get the error message we expected.

     

    Click the OK button.

  12. Now let's see if we can create an activity when we reset the status to Open.

    Click the Status list.
